How Zuploy works

Two sides to every shift. Here's exactly how both work.

01

Create your business account

Register with your business details, EIN, and owner ID. Our team verifies your business (manually reviewed at launch). Takes 24–48 hours. One-time setup.

02

Set up your venue

Add your venue location — address, GPS coordinates, WiFi access point MAC addresses. This is how workers verify their arrival at your exact location.

03

Connect Stripe for billing

Connect your Stripe account for seamless billing. You're only charged after a shift is complete — on verified clock-out. No upfront deposits.

04

Post your first shift

Choose your industry, role, date, time, and hourly rate. 4-step wizard — under 60 seconds. Workers are notified immediately based on ZRA score ranking.

05

Review and confirm a worker

Browse applications sorted by ZRA reliability score. See each worker's badge tier, rating, and shift history. Confirm with one tap. They get an immediate confirmation SMS.

06

Worker clocks in — you're notified

When the worker arrives, they clock in via our 3-factor geofence (GPS + WiFi + Bluetooth). You get an instant notification with their trust score.

07

Clock-out — you're charged, worker is paid

On clock-out, your platform fee is charged to Stripe. The worker is paid immediately. If there's no verified clock-out, there is no charge.

🛡️ What happens if a worker no-shows?

ZCL-v1 automatically triggers a 4-stage cascade. Stage 1 tries your roster (workers you've had before). Stage 2 tries prior applicants (+$15 bonus). Stage 3 tries the ZRA-ranked pool (+$25 bonus). Stage 4 tries the standby pool (+$35 bonus). If all stages exhaust with no fill — you pay zero platform fee. Fill-or-Free.

01

Register and get verified

Fill in your personal info, skills, and weekly availability. Upload your government ID. Complete a live GPS-stamped selfie. We run your Checkr BGC. Founding members get this free.

02

Browse and apply for shifts

Browse open shifts near you filtered by industry, role, date, and rate. Apply with one tap. You'll be ranked by ZRA score — keep your score high to get more invites.

03

Get confirmed — receive shift details

When the business confirms you, you get an immediate SMS. Venue address is sent 2 hours before your shift starts.

04

Clock in via geofence

When you arrive, open the app and clock in. Our system verifies your GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth location. 60+ trust score = verified. You're good to go.

05

Work your shift

Do what you do. The business rates you after the shift. Your ZRA score updates. Ratings and show rate are what drive your badge progression.

06

Clock out — get paid

Clock out when your shift ends. Payment is triggered immediately. Free ACH arrives next business day. $1.99 instant pay gets it to your debit card within 2 hours.

⚡ Standby pool — earn bonus pay

Opt in to the standby pool to receive urgent shift alerts. When a no-show cascade reaches Stage 4, standby workers get notified and earn a $35 bonus on top of regular pay. Stage 3 earns $25. Stage 2 earns $15.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to fill a shift?
For a well-priced shift posted 12–24 hours in advance, you can expect worker confirmation within 2–6 hours — giving you time to vet applicants and choose the right person. For urgent shifts posted within 4 hours of start, our cascade system activates automatically if needed, working through multiple worker pools to fill the position as fast as possible. Fill time depends on market availability, pay rate, and how far in advance you post. The earlier you post, the better your options and the lower your cost.
What happens if a worker cancels last minute?
If a worker cancels less than 4 hours before start, a $25 late cancel recovery fee is charged to cover the disruption. ZCL-v1 then runs an abbreviated cascade through Stages 2–4 to find a replacement.
How are workers background checked?
All workers undergo a Checkr background check before their first shift. This covers criminal history and identity verification. Founding members get their BGC free. Standard workers have the cost covered by their $30 security deposit.
When is the business charged?
Only on verified clock-out. If a worker doesn't clock in or the shift doesn't complete, you are not charged. This is different from most staffing platforms which charge on confirmation.
What is the minimum fee per shift?
$15 per shift, regardless of the percentage calculation. This protects the platform economics on very short or very low-rate shifts.
Can I request the same worker again?
Yes — and we actively encourage it. When you rebook the same worker, you build a loyalty pair. After 5 shifts together you get a 3% discount off your tier rate. After 11 shifts together, 5% off. They also become your Stage 1 roster worker in any future cascade.
Is Zuploy available in my city?
Yes — DFW only at launch, Summer 2026. We are building deep in one market first before expanding to Houston, Austin, and beyond. Every worker is local and every venue is verified within the launch market.
How does Zuploy prevent workers from gaming the system?
Multiple layers of protection: ratings are only accepted when a verified clock-in and clock-out are both recorded on that specific shift — fake reviews are rejected at the database level. Clock-in requires at least 2 of 3 factors (GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth) to score above zero — GPS-only is never accepted. Workers who repeatedly decline Stage 1 or 2 cascade invitations to collect higher Stage 3/4 bonuses are automatically flagged and deprioritised. Worker identity (phone + government ID) is permanently tied to their account — re-registration after a no-show is blocked for 90 days.
What happens if I try to hire a Zuploy worker directly?
Your platform agreement includes a non-circumvention clause. Hiring any Zuploy worker directly within 12 months of a placement incurs a conversion fee of 10% of their annualised salary. This is standard in the staffing industry and protects the marketplace for everyone — including the workers who depend on platform protections.
Does Fill-or-Free apply to every unfilled shift?
No — Fill-or-Free has hard eligibility rules. The shift must be posted with at least 2 hours advance notice (shifts posted less than 2 hours before start are not eligible regardless of tier). The shift must be 4+ hours or $400+ GMV. Your business must be on Regular tier or above. And Fill-or-Free only triggers when ZCL has exhausted all 4 cascade stages with no verified worker. These rules exist to keep the guarantee sustainable and fair.
